AERIAL WORK PLATFORM
This Aerial Platform Training Program is designed to provide elevated work platform operators with a solid foundation in: Health & Safety Standards, Preventative Maintenance & Proper Procedures for Safe Operation of Boom Lifts. Boom Lift and Scissor Lift training classes consist of classroom theory, a written test and practical hands-on aerial lift experience. Course content is delivered through multimedia presentations and reinforced through workbooks and supplementary handouts.

AWWA CROSS CONNECTION
AWWA CROSS CONNECTION COURSE
Cross Connection Control Specialists help reduce the risk of contamination by educating the public and working with commercial and industrial water users to ensure proper backflow prevention devices are installed. If not installed correctly, cross-connections can pose a threat to safe drinking water if hydraulic conditions occur to cause backflow. The program's emphasis is on hazards, devices, and testing. If you are already involved with the planning, design, installation, maintenance, and inspection of plumbing, piping systems, or water-supplied equipment that connects to the potable water system, either inside or outside of buildings, then this course will be a huge asset to you.

Fiberglass Butt & Wrap is a technical training course that teaches how to properly apply fiberglass insulation to pipes, fittings, and equipment. The “butt and wrap” method refers to insulating straight pipe sections (“butts”) and then wrapping joints, elbows, and irregular surfaces with fiberglass materials for full coverage and heat efficiency.​

MEDICAL GAS PIPING & SYSTEM INSTALLATION PERSONAL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (CSA)
The Medical Gas Piping and Systems Installation occupational certification program has been developed by CSA Group in conjunction with industry stakeholders to provide assurance that an individual possesses the competencies deemed necessary to perform the job function of a Medical Gas Piping and Systems Installer.

PRE-REQUISITE: Must hold a Journeyperson Certificate in the Plumber or Steamfitter Trades. Must have a Valid Provincial Brazing Test or in the absence of a recognized procedure, a NAUSC/UA Canada recognized procedure.

COLD CUTTING SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
The NAUSC Cold Cutting Certificate will benefit every journeyperson who is interested in working on site performing cold cutting operations on large diameter and heavy wall specialty piping systems. The program is designed to give participants a better understanding of the complexities of working safely as cold cutting specialists as defined by the piping industry. Participants will develop skills in the operation and maintenance of equipment, as well as the application of required calculations that are used to ensure precise cuts and beveling for welding operations.

CONTROLLED BOLTING SPECIALTY CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
The NAUSC Controlled Bolting program is designed to ensure that participants are prepared to operate and maintain equipment used for flange and vessel bolting operations for high pressure and process systems in plants and refineries in the construction and maintenance industries. Participants will use calculations to determine the necessary parameters for the proper assembly and disassembly of pressure bolted joints using specialty hydraulic equipment. This is key to ensuring that operations for high pressure applications can guarantee leak free start-up of systems.

McELROY FUSION CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
NAUSC has formed a partnership with McElroy Manufacturing Incorporated & McElroy University, leaders in the fusion industry. This certification program provides top-tier fusion training to Participants who will complete fusion connections using thermoplastic piping and fittings according to standards, procedures, and best industry practices. Participants will be required to demonstrate their proficiency on a wide range of McElroy Manufacturing Inc. equipment and will benefit from both theory and hands-on elements that will enhance their efficiency, productivity, and safety. This certification is mutually recognized by NAUSC, McElroy Manufacturing Inc., and McElroy University.

P.I.P.E.S. RIGGER PERSONNEL CERTIFICATION PROGRAM (CSA)
A partnership has been formed with the United Association Canada (UA), the National Association of Union Schools and Colleges (NAUSC), and CSA Group. This initiative will provide a Canadian piping trades training and certification national standard for rigging that will ensure safe and productive worksites for anyone involved in installation and maintenance of piping systems in all areas of the piping industry in Canada.

SHOP STEWARD CERTIFICATION COURSE
This certification program is designed to provide consistent training for all Stewards across Canada and to emphasize the UA Standard for Excellence and the Steward’s critical role in its success. Stewards will gain a strong understanding of their role in working with supervision in the workplace environment. Methods for working with management and union members toward a more productive job site, while ensuring that workplace issues do not escalate and interfere with operations and productivity on the job will be explained. Other topics that are covered include workplace law and the historical background on unions with discussion on how they relate to the role of a working union steward.

PRE-REQUISITE: Must have a Journeyperson Trade License in one of the Piping Trades. Must be referred to by the Business Manager of the local union to ensure that people who are candidates are qualified to be in the position as determined by the Business manager. This is key to the success of the program and buy-in from the Business Manager and Executive Board of the local union.

SUPERVISION LEVEL 1 CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
Formerly named the NAUSC Foreman Certification Program, this training program offers essential skills and concepts needed to supervise a crew in the many sectors that Piping Professionals work within. Topics include communication & core values, planning, documentation, and legal responsibilities. Included in the program are sessions designed to build personal and supervisory skills, plan and supervise a multi-disciplined work crew, manage safety requirements, provide essential training in due diligence and discipline, and workflow scheduling. The course uses individual and group activities and quizzes to reinforce learning. The NAUSC Supervision Level 1 program is a prerequisite course for the NAUSC Supervision Level 2 program and the Industrial Construction Crew Supervisor (ICCS) designation (Alberta).

INSPECTION, TESTING AND MAINTENANCE CERTIFICATION PROGRAM
The NAUSC ITM (Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Water-Based Fire Protection Systems) Certification Program was developed to aid in the education and training of those employed within the field of inspection, testing and maintenance of water-based fire protection systems. Through coverage of various principles and processes, as well as, expectations, roles and responsibilities related to ITM, this certification provides new and existing inspectors with consistent and quality training that industry can depend on. With the support of contractors and CASA, the NAUSC ITM certification program can help reduce the liability and anxiety associated with inspections.
